Traditional Style Chinese Desserts
Chinese Style desserts
Chinese cuisine is not known for their desserts or snacks. However, anybody heading to the Far East will definitely come across many which you may not be so familiar with.
The traditional style Chinese desserts usually look like a soup which is sweet. “Tong sui” is a sweet soup which may contain beans or tapioca pearls which are the popular ingredients for making Chinese desserts. A popular tong sui is the coconut sweet soup (sometimes with yam) and sago pearls. Another popular tong sui is the red bean dessert.
Less traditional desserts but often found in the Far East are fruit based such as the mango/pomelo desserts. This certainly makes it easier to achieve one’s five a day portion!
